You sometimes wonder why you bother to work, pay tax (inc. PRSI), bin charges and all the rest. Mrs Gombeen is a very organised sort, so she went to the council offices a while ago and bought a supply of yellow bin tags.
Yesterday, we got back to the Manor after a day’s Arbeit, only to find the unemptied bin standing like a bored sentry at the top of the drive. Mrs Gombeen today phoned the council to find out why.
Apparently, a local skanger (and there are many) had started an enterprise in duplicating the yellow tags, so Fingal County Council - useless arseholes that they are - decided to change the tags to purple, without telling anyone of course.
So now, any bins with yellow tags will not be collected. It seems, however, that the facility exists for us to exchange our yellow tags for purple ones... the only problem being that the relevant council office is only open from 9.30 until 3.30. Nice work if you can get it.

So now we have a binful of rubbish and nowhere to put it. Anyone know of a nice, nearby, beauty spot? (The council offices have CCTV).

GM thats a perfect example why the councils in this city are a joke. Any joined up thinking? No none. If you think its bad now, just think as time goes on, those bin charges will only go one way, up. So we'll be paying more for the frustration. What about the other unmentionables on the horizon? Property tax, water charges etc etc??
As for that skanger, as you say GM there is to many of them, not only in Fingal but the whole city is covered with them. Its almost a cultural (in the broad use of the word!) choice here.

Don't bother with the purple tags GM and Madam GM cos I've just been advised by one of my minions on the board of Ponyboy International Inc that one of our minor offshore companies (Ponytags Ltd) has just received a massive order (strictly cash terms too) from a client in Fingal County on burberry motif invoice for a consigment of tags. Apparently we have had dealings with this company's rep (Darren) before, when he previously placed an order for a large quantity of yellow bin tags, printed with some foreign language logo on them. The latest order is pretty much along the same lines, only this time there's a colour change - PURPLE.
Nice beautiful spot for your rubbish? What about Kildare Street. There's already plenty of rubbish there ...
@ Dakota. Yes, business as usual in Ireland. As for the skangers, it's one of the things we do best, sadly.
@ Ponyboy You should be kept busy for the foreseeable future there at Ponytags so, as Fingal Co Co will be changing the colours every couple of weeks at this rate...
@ Harald. Now there's an idea...
I hear you can get "tags" for a fiver Anyone know where
