Dangerous roads and bridges in Ireland... where is the RSA?

Back to "leisure" mode... with a  "message" of course.

 How many die on Ireland's roads due to bad infrastructure?   Bad roads... obscured junctions... lack of footpaths... dodgy bridges?

 This footage was taken in a couple of hours' spin of the capital.   

 And don't even mention Slane Bridge...

    Good stuff GM! Travelling on irish roads is an adventure. We pay road-tax for the thrill-factor. A few years ago (when I still had my Nissan X-Trail and before the bank took it away) it was a shear pleasure to hit the roads. Not so much for my wife or other family-visitors from Germany though. Even the dogs were not so amused considering the puke I had to clean out after a trip to the beach. But other than that it was a rollercoaster-ride!

    I'm riding the bicycle these days. No car. Can't afford it. But there's even a bigger challenge! The question is how to get from A to B (even to C) without being killed! And if you want to take this to the top level, you want to cycle on a friday or saturday night! That's the real thrill ...

    I don't even want to think about that, Nenad.

    On a less life-and-limb level,
    every time I go out on the roads, I notice they so much more bumpier and more potholed than the last time... I need to have the osteopath on speed-dial.

    It is much easier and cheaper to pin the blame for road deaths completely on drivers, hence you will seldom find the RSA campaigning for better roads.

    @ DC3. One big one, so it is.

    @ Young Ireland. You know, I've just switched off the radio now, with Gaybo banking on about how the RSA are highlighting "pedestrian safety" this, or next, week.

    Only the other day, I heard on radio that residents of a town in Galway were campaigning for footpaths on a nearby road where three people had been killed in the last couple of years.

    So yes, you're spot-on - that's the RSA's game.
